Ingredients and Function:
Bifidobacterium animalis subsp. lactis: Naturally occurring inhabitant of the intestines. Improves digestive conditions through enhancing regularity and digestion through secondary enzymatic production. Can contribute to improved general immunity functions. Exhibits potent acid tolerance. Adheres to intestinal mucin.
Bifidobacterium bifidum: Enhances the assimilation of minerals such as iron, calcium, magnesium and zinc. Shown to support normal inflammatory response in the colon and stimulate the body’s fluid immunity. Aids in the digestion of food. Can help detoxify the body of toxins. Can help stop diarrhea caused by antibiotic use or infections. Aids in the treatment of IBS.
Bifidobacterium breve: Unique in its ability to compete with other harmful bacteria due to the large variety of molecules that it can digest. Produces L+ lactic acid and metabolizes more than 20 carbohydrates. Readily adheres to intestinal cells and blocks the adherence of pathogenic bacteria like E. coli. Can help to promote respiratory health, skin health, and helps to inhibit overproduction of some of the primary culprits of yeast infections. Can help to protect from infection and inflammation. Can help to prevent intestinal injury caused by chemotherapy or radiation therapy. Has strong anti-inflammatory properties that are similar to steroid medication commonly used to treat chronic asthma. Supports digestion.
Bifidobacterium longum subsp. Infantis: One of the most important probiotic bacteria found in the body. Abundant in the large intestine. Resistant to gastric acid and bile. Detoxifies toxins and reduces distress.
Bifidobacterium longum subsp. Infantis cont.: Found to reduce the frequency of gastrointestinal disorders during antibiotic use. Binds to intestinal cells to stop harmful pathogens from binding and getting into the body. Can help to reduce gut inflammation and improve immune health. Produces important B vitamins that help lower homocysteine levels in the blood which help to lower the risk of cardiovascular disease and cerebral vascular disease (stroke). Inhibits the production of toxic bacteria and ammonia within the body.
Lactobacillus acidophilus: Naturally occurring inhabitant of the intestines. Most prevalent species of probiotic found in the small intestines. Produces natural antibiotics like lactocidin, acidophilin, etc. which support stronger immunity. Can help to reduce the risk of viral infections. Has known antimicrobial activity against Staphylococcus aureus, Salmonella, E.coli and Candida albicans. High tolerance to gastric acid and bile salts. Can help to prevent and reduce diarrhea caused by bacterial infections, various diseases or antibiotic use. May help reduce and prevent allergic reactions and symptoms of eczema.
Lactobacillus brevis: Is a type of lactic acid bacteria that has many benefits. Can help to improve immune function, support digestive health, improve cognitive function. Important in the synthesis of vitamins D and K. Can help combat gastric ulcers by inhibiting Heliobacter pylori (H. pylori is a major cause of ulcers), can also help reduce the possible side effects associated with traditional treatments for H. pylori. Supports natural killer (NK) cell activity to fight off infections and stop the growth of cancer cells.
Lactobacillus bulgaricus: Naturally occurring inhabitant of the intestines. Stimulates the growth of beneficial bacteria. Creates lactic acid which can create inhospitable environments for other pathogenic microorganisms. May help manage liver disease, diarrhea caused by antibiotics, IBD, atopic dermatitis (eczema), allergic rhinitis (hay fever), tooth decay and periodontal disease.
Lactobacillus casei: Naturally occurring inhabitant of the urinary and genital tracts. Produces lactic acid. Creates environmental conditions that are unfavorable to unwanted bacteria. Helps digest food and absorb important nutrients. Can help constipation, IBD, IBS. May aid in treating acne, hives, fever blisters, allergies, eczema, dermatitis, oral problems, ear infections, urinary tract infections, cold, flu and respiratory infections.
Lactobacillus plantarum: Naturally occurring inhabitant of the intestines. Produces lactic acid from carbohydrates. Creates a more acidic environment, which helps to inhibit less desirable microorganisms. Can help to stimulate digestive system, fight off disease-causing bacteria, and helps the body to produce vitamins. Can help treat or prevent anxiety, diabetes, eczema, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, IBS, IBD. Can help sharpen memory, fight cavities, enhance athletic performance, promote weight loss. Binds to intestinal mucosa which helps to increase the gut’s population of beneficial bacteria. May help to reduce and protect against inflammation related health problems.
Lactobacillus reuteri: Naturally found in the gastrointestinal tract and urinary tract. Can produce antimicrobial molecules such as organic acids, ethanol, and reuterin, and is able to inhibit the colonization of pathogenic microbes. Can reduce the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines while promoting T-cell development and function. Can help to strengthen the intestinal barrier which may decrease the translocation of microbials and reduce inflammatory diseases.
Lactobacillus rhamnosus: Naturally occurring inhabitant of the intestines. Colonizes, acidifies and protects the small intestine, and can quickly establish itself in the large intestine. Inhibits the growth of streptococci and clostridia. Creates anaerobic conditions which favor the implantation of bifidobacterial. Produces biologically desirable lactic acid. Detoxifies environmental toxins. May prevent and treat diarrhea, relieve IBS symptoms, and improve gut health. May protect against cavities by fighting the harmful bacteria in the mouth that cause acids to break down enamel. May help prevent urinary tract infections, including kidney, bladder and urethra.
Rice Maltodextrin: Digestion-Resistant (RMD) Important for preserving and prolonging the lifespan of probiotic microorganisms, promotes digestion, bowel movements and gut health.
